M-482 — October 16, 2003 — Mr. Breitkreuz (Yorkton—Melville) — On or after Thursday, October 30, 2003 — That, in the opinion of this House, the government should introduce a bill entitled “Woman’s Right to Know Act” that would guarantee that all women considering an abortion would be given complete information by their physician about all the risks of the procedure before being referred for an abortion, and provide penalties for physicians who perform an abortion without the informed consent of the mother or perform an abortion that is not medically necessary for the purpose of maintaining health, preventing disease or diagnosing or treating an injury, illness or disability in accordance with the Canada Health Act.

Breitkreuz (Yorkton—Melville) — À compter du jeudi 30 octobre 2003 — Que, de l’avis de la Chambre, le gouvernement devrait présenter un projet de loi intitulé « Loi sur le droit des femmes de savoir » garantissant à toute femme envisageant un avortement de recevoir de son médecin toute l’information requise sur les risques de l’opération avant qu’elle soit référée pour avortement, et prévoyant des peines pour les médecins qui pratiquent un avortement sans le consentement de la mère ou sans nécessité médicale pour protéger la santé, prévenir la maladie ou diagnostiquer ou traiter une blessure, une maladie ou une invalidité, conformément à la Loi canadienne sur la santé.
