Q-1502 — May 11, 2005 — Mr. Breitkreuz (Yorkton—Melville) — With respect to the implementation of sections 35, 37 and 40 of the Firearms Act by the Canada Border Services Agency: (a) how many person-years have been allocated to this activity for the fiscal year 2004-2005; (b) how many person-years will be allocated for each of the next five fiscal years; (c) what is the total amount that has been spent for the fiscal year 2004-2005; (d) what is the total amount that will be allocated for each of the next five fiscal years; (e) what activities does the implementation of these sections entail; and (f) what are the potential risks to public safety and national security resulting from the diversion of human and financial resources from activities such as the pursuit of smugglers, terrorists, illegal immigrants, illegal guns, drugs, explosives, and other contraband?

Breitkreuz (Yorkton—Melville) — En ce qui concerne l’application des articles 35, 37 et 40 de la Loi sur les armes à feu par l’Agence des services frontaliers du Canada : a) combien d’années-personnes ont été affectées à cette activité pour l’année financière 2004-2005; b) combien d’années-personnes seront affectées à cette activité pour chacune des cinq prochaines années financières; c) quel est le montant total qui a été dépensé pour l’année financière 2004-2005; d) quel est le montant total qui sera dépensé pour chacune des cinq prochaines années financières; e) quelles activités la mise en application de ces articles suppose-t-elle; f) la réaffectation de ressources humaines et financières auparavant consacrées à des activités comme la poursuite de contrebandiers, de terroristes, d’immigrants clandestins, d’armes à feu illicites, de drogues, d’explosifs et d’autres objets interdits pourrait impliquer quels risques pour la sécurité publique et la sécurité nationale?
