Nationally consistent standards for reporting authorizations to transport and a centralized system to record information were introduced in September 2003. For this reason, the statistical information requested on authorizations to transport is not available prior to October 2003. The attached chart provides the available information requested, from October 2003 to April 2005. However, due to past reporting practices in certain jurisdictions, data was not available in some cases until February 2004.

  1. Please see attached chart.
2. Please see attached chart
3. The Canada Firearms Centre (CAFC) does not collect statistics regarding the number of criminal charges laid against owners of registered prohibited firearms transporting their firearms to shooting ranges.
4. The CAFC does not have such information, as it is not collected by the CAFC or Chief Firearms Officers.
