It
is heartening to see that even Liberal MPs are contemptuous of
"improvements" to the billion-dollar Liberal gun registry. The
so-called improvements amount to reduced fees, as if fees were ever the issue,
and a promise to cut operating costs, but with no plan on how to do it. It's
nothing more than half-assed tinkering with total failure. Even worse, it
reveals the Liberal government's contempt for voters. Did they really think we'd
be impressed by this crude pretence of change?
Among
those unimpressed is Sarnia-Lambton MP Roger Gallaway. "This is beyond
disingenuous," he told the Toronto Star. 'This is deceitful in the worst
way." To see Liberal troops attacking their own leadership like this on the
eve of a federal election is unheard of. Add it to the growing pile of evidence
that the Paul Martin Liberals don't know what they're doing.
We'll
soon see if they're as bad at campaigning as they are at governing.
