The Canadian Shooting Sports Association (CSSA) is thrilled to announce its sponsorship of a sold-out Ladies Event at the Cornwall Handgun Club, located at 4395 ON-138 in St. Andrews West, Ontario. This special occasion brought together women from across the region to celebrate safe, responsible firearms use—and, more importantly, to support an essential cause. All proceeds from the event are being donated to Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS) Cornwall and the SD&G area.
The Cornwall Handgun Club, a fixture in the local shooting community, provides a welcoming and secure environment for both novice and experienced shooters. With its well-maintained facilities and dedicated membership, the club has long been a hub for sport shooting, education, and community outreach in Eastern Ontario.
CSSA’s Office Manager, Heather McConaghy, attended the event to meet participants and share information about the CSSA’s initiatives for women. Heather spoke with attendees about the association’s women’s program, which focuses on education, empowerment, and advocacy for female firearms enthusiasts. The CSSA is committed to promoting safe and respectful participation in shooting sports while standing up for the rights of responsible firearms owners across Canada.
It is important to hold events like these ladies’ days to encourage more women into the sport. All the women in attendance had smiles that continued to grow throughout the day. A large number are now planning on attending the club’s open house with their families. And when these events raise awareness and funds for worthy causes, like SASS, it is an added bonus.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, funds raised will directly benefit SASS Cornwall and SD&G, supporting vital resources and programs for survivors of sexual assault in the region.
The CSSA extends its gratitude to the Cornwall Handgun Club, all event organizers, volunteers, and especially the women who made the day such a success.
