Happy New Year from the Canadian Shooting Sports Association
As we close the book on 2024, we must remember the challenges our community has faced. The past years have brought waves of restrictions that tested our resolve. True to form, Canada’s sport shooters stood tall, united, and determined.
Despite attempts to diminish our lawful sporting traditions, we’ve seen remarkable displays of solidarity. Our membership and strength grew. Our voices rose in the corridors of power. At ranges across the country, mentors continued teaching safe shooting to thousands of new enthusiasts. Competitive shooters kept excelling. Clubs adapted and persevered.
That’s who we are. We don’t back down when faced with adversity – we organize, educate, and stand our ground. Our community has shown that government attacks can’t break the spirit of law-abiding firearms owners.
As we enter 2025, our commitment is resolute to preserve, promote and protect our firearms heritage. The path ahead is not easy, but remember: we’re in this together. Every competition held, every new shooter and every club that keeps its door open is a victory.
The CSSA remains unwavering in our mission. We’ll continue fighting for evidence-based laws that respect both public safety and responsible firearms owners. Our heritage and sports aren’t just hobbies – they’re part of Canada’s DNA.
