It is with a heavy heart we share the news that Peter (Pete) Snelson, our long-time friend and CSSA Regional Director, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 3, 2020, at the age of 51.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his mother, Mariette, and his sister, Kathryn, in this time of deep loss and grief. Like them, we too will miss Pete deeply in the weeks, months and years ahead.
Gone too soon doesn’t begin to describe his passing, nor does it adequately describe the emptiness left in our hearts.
As well as being a loyal friend and confidant, Pete Snelson worked tirelessly behind the scenes, spreading the message of liberty and freedom everywhere he went.
His wry wit and intelligence will be sorely missed, as will his infectious humour and the unbounded energy he brought to everything he did.
Pete was always coming up with ideas to help safeguard our rights and our liberty, so it seems only fitting we remember him by creating two educational scholarships in his honour – one for high school students and one for university students.
In honour of Pete’s dedication to liberty, the CSSA is proud to announce “The Peter Snelson Memorial Essay Contest.”
The first contest will open in September 2020, and we will publish more details in the coming months.
Rest in peace, Pete.
In memory of Peter, please consider donations to Wounded Warriors Canada.
