The National Shooting Sports Foundation’s firearm industry trade show is the largest of its kind in North America.
Here are a few facts you may not know about SHOT Show Las Vegas.
- More than 1,600 companies show off their products on the exhibition floor.
- Exhibitors, buyers, media and industry professionals attend from 111 countries.
- The event covers almost 16 acres, the equivalent of the New Orleans Superdome.
- To walk every aisle between the 11 football fields of exhibits you would cover 12.5 miles.
- To visit every exhibitor booth you could only spend 22 seconds at each one.
- SHOT Show generates millions of dollars in revenue that funds NSSF programs and services to “promote, protect and preserve” hunting and the shooting sports. Among those programs are Project ChildSafe, the industry’s firearm safety education program; Operation Secure Store, which helps firearm retailers prevent thefts, and Project +One their flagship program to bring new enthusiasts into the shooting sports.
- Truckers haul over 7 million pounds of products, displays and gear from across North America into the exhibition centre.
Many of those truckers are Canadian. We caught up with one of them at SHOT Show’s Industry Day at the Range.
