In downtown Hamilton, the violence is so prevalent that Canada Post suspended deliveries for two days last month.[i]
“Due to the recent incident of public violence, we temporarily suspended our collection and delivery operations in the downtown core of Hamilton Friday, July 12 and Monday, July 15,” said Phil Rogers from Canada Post.
The same safety concerns forced the Tax Court of Canada to vacate its downtown property near City Hall.
Hamilton has more shooting so far this year than all of last year and, according to Detective Matthew Dugdale, illegal guns are the “weapon of choice” for street-level criminals.
Here’s a few examples from the past seven days in the GTA:
- On August 3, a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of two Oshawa men. Both were charged with a variety of weapons-related charges, including possession of a firearm contrary to order.[ii]
- On August 6, a 54-year-old man was arrested and charged with a slew of firearms-related charges, including 3 counts each of careless use of firearm and possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order.[iii]
- Tyler Close, a violent repeat offender, is wanted for breaching his statutory release. The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad issued a public appeal to help find the man who, in October 2022, was charged with robbery, unauthorized use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order (six counts), resisting a peace officer, and possession of a hard drug (two counts).[iv]
Since Trudeau was elected in 2016, the rate of stabbing murders across Canada has increased year after year.[v]
Smuggled guns continue to flood across the Canada-US border, with no end in sight.[vi]
Toronto’s youth-driven violence continues to escalate despite Trudeau’s virtue-signaling “National Day Against Gun Violence.”[vii]
While the violence escalates and authorities lose track of violent, repeat offenders, Justin Trudeau’s only apparent concern is seizing and destroying firearms owned by RCMP-vetted and federally licensed firearms owners.
Trudeau’s Public Safety Minister recently asked retired RCMP members to confiscate guns from licensed firearms owners, yet Trudeau’s minion has made no discernable efforts to confiscate illegal guns from violent repeat offenders.[viii]
Trudeau should be ashamed of his legacy on Public Safety. He’s not, because he lacks the ability to care about anyone but himself, his litany of virtue-signaling press releases notwithstanding.
Either through wilful ignorance, outright stupidity or blind allegiance to a policy that has failed everywhere it’s been implemented in the world, Trudeau ignores soaring violent crime rates to focus on his perceived source of the problem: the most vetted civilians in our nation.
Trudeau will not stop his assault on you, faithful gun owner. You are the enemy, in Trudeau’s deranged mind.
The only thing that will stop this megalomaniac is a federal election.
Get involved with your local constituency association.
Volunteer your most precious resource – your time – to ensure Trudeau’s candidate in your riding is defeated.
Do the simple but effective work today so we can be rid of the worst Prime Minister in Canadian history tomorrow.
