Where better to meet and collaborate with like-minded firearms business owners and firearms community advocates than at the world’s largest firearms event, The Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, each January.
Almost 300 representatives of Canada’s firearms industry met Wednesday night 108 floors above Las Vegas at the Stratosphere’s Air Bar to celebrate our community and renew our commitment to defend our culture and heritage in the face of non-stop attacks by the federal Liberal government.
For ten years, CSSA has been proud to host The 10th Annual Great Canadian Reception at SHOT Show for many reasons, but foremost is the opportunity this event provides Canadian businesses and firearms advocates to meet, network and collaborate.
This event, which began in CSSA Director Micheal Duynhoven’s hotel room in 2013, is now the premier event for Canadians attending the largest firearms industry trade show in the world. His Herculean efforts grew this event into the signature event for Canadians attending SHOT Show each year. Great job, Mike!
Year after year, attendees call the CSSA reception “the most coveted invitation for Canadians at SHOT” because of the incredible opportunity it provides us to renew old friendships and forge new relationships with one common goal: to protect and defend the rights, freedoms and responsibilities of Canadian firearms owners.
It’s an opportunity for Canada’s best and brightest to connect unlike any other.
The world’s best and brightest advocates from the World Forum on Shooting Activities (WFSA) – of which CSSA is a founding member – meets at SHOT Show to share the latest and most effective tactics, strategies and communications techniques from around the globe.
“In one week here at SHOT and The Great Canadian Reception,” said Teri Jane Bryant, Alberta’s Chief Firearms Officer, “I can connect with more Alberta firearms businesses than I can meet at any other event back home. It also gives me the opportunity to meet with U.S public safety officials and see what new security devices are available for the Canadian market so I can better prepare my team to serve firearms licensees in the year ahead.”
Robert Freberg, Saskatchewan’s Chief Firearms Officer, agreed.
“It’s an excellent opportunity to build stronger relationships with our firearms community,” Freberg said, “as well as network with law enforcement officials from across Canada and North America. SHOT Show and The Great Canadian Reception are pivotal to our ongoing efforts to stop the flow of illegal guns into our jurisdiction while supporting law-abiding gun owners. We must attend these events to build and maintain the relationships that are key to learning and sharing best practices.”
“We are proud to host The Great Canadian Reception at SHOT Show every year,” said Tony Bernardo, Executive Director of the Canadian Shooting Sports Association. “We’re grateful for our event sponsors who support our vision of a united Canadian firearms community.”
